René Cardoso dos Santos was born on june 1979 in Sao Paulo where he also graduated with a bachelors degree in biological sciences at the Mackenzie University.

Since childhood he was a birdwatcher. His great passion is the parrot family, so it is his expertise in ornithology.

In 2006 he started as a birdwatching guide in Ubatuba-SP. Being trained by Paulo Boute from the famous BouteExpeditions based on Várzea Grande-MT, Paulo is one of the few guides with over 20 years of experience in this field.

Other mentors and friends from who had great experience and mirrors as a guide and observer: Carlos Rizzo (UbatubaBirds), Edson Endrigo (AvesFoto), Bret Whitney (Fieldguide), Francisco and Jorge (Cristalino J.L.), Fabiano Oliveira (Chapada dos Guimaraes).

RS has guided professionally in the states of São Paulo, Mato Grosso (Cristalino Jungle Lodge), Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia and Santa Catarina.
